Dec. 13, 2024—Dr. Virginia Stout, assistant principal at Jowell Elementary School, was named the principal at Jowell on Dec. 13. Dr. Stout replaces Kimberley Criswell, who will retire at the end of December.
Dr. Stout has 19 years of experience in education. She began her career as an elementary school music teacher in Arlington ISD before moving to Katy ISD to serve in the same position. Dr. Stout came to CFISD as an assistant principal at Jowell in 2017.
She holds numerous certifications, including her Texas Principal Certification, and has served on various education committees.
Dr. Stout earned her Bachelor of Music Education – Instrumental from Texas Christian University and her Master of Science in Educational Leadership and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.
“I am honored to be named principal of Jowell Elementary School,” Dr. Stout said. “For the last seven years, I have worked alongside educators who share a commitment to inspire lifelong learners and I look forward to our next chapter together. The Jowell community holds a very special place in my heart, and I consider it a great privilege to be a Jowell Jaguar.”
